My story

My life’s work began with a love for the arts, and for the people in my daily life. Disability and music are part of my family’s story. I realised from early on that creativity is an integration of passion and compassion, a combination of values that can be embraced in everyday being and doing. I welcome these values wholly in both my profession and my art practice.

In my role as Assistant Professor, I serve the division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies in the School of Humanities at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. I conduct research and teaching that centers the disabled experience, the study of embodied interaction, and design-based research. I continue to tinker in my personal time, improvise across different musical genres, and play with my three cats. I live my life with joy and gratitude.
